SANSKRIT

Sanskrit department is established in the college in 1999. Sanskrit is introduced as a Compulsory, Core course, Elective –I and Elective II Course at the Undergraduate level and as a Core subject at P.G level. The college has five faculties in the year 2021 but due to the death of one faculty member Dr. Bhupatsinh Abhesinh Baria on dated 6th May, 2021 presently there are four faculties with principal in the college. It is the largest department in the college. Dr. G. N. Baria is the senior most faculty member in the college with 32 years of teaching experience. He joined this college on 24th August, 1999. He is recognized Ph. D supervisor in Shri Govind Guru University, Godhra. At present four research scholars are pursuing their Ph. D under his guidance. The head of the department is Dr. Mahesh B. Patel, Assistant Professor in the college who joined the college in 2015. Dr. Mahesh B. Patel is recognized Ph. D supervisor in Shri Govind Guru University, Godhra. At present three research scholars are pursuing their Ph. D under his guidance. Another faculty member is Dr. R. M. Rathva, she is Assistant Professor and has joined the college in 2015. The fourth faculty member is Dr. K. B. Machhi, Adhyapak Sahayak since 2018. He has worked in the same college as a Part-Time Lecturer prior to his full time appointment in the same college in 2018. Along with teaching activities, the department organizes Co-curricular activities for the development of students in Sanskrit. Many co-curricular activities like ‘Sanskrit Sambhashanam’, Geeta Jayanti and Sanskrit Week are organized by the department. Due to great efforts of the faculty members students are interested in Sanskrit language and are motivated and encouraged to learn Sanskrit.
