The department of History was started in the year 1999 as an Elective – I and Elective – II course only. But in the year 2020-2021 the college has started History as a Core course in Self-Financed Programme. Now History has been introduced as a Core Course, Elective – I and Elective-II subject in B.A. During the B. A. Semester – I to VI, the department offers many interesting papers named ‘Ancient Indian History’, ‘Modern Indian History’, ‘Contemporary History of the World’ ‘European History and History of Revolutions’. At present there are two faculties in History in the college, one faculty in Grant in Aid and the other faculty is in Self-financed programme. Shri K. J. Rami is working as a part- time lecturer since December, 2000 in Grant in Aid department and he is pursuing his Ph. D from Shri Govind Guru University, Godhra. The other faculty member in History in the college is Baria Durgeshbhai M. who has been appointed in Self –Financed U.G course.
It is a matter of pride that many students have been offering History subject in the U.G Core Course in the college from last three years and are getting very good results also. Students are constantly encouraged to participate in various seminars, presentations held in the college to enrich their knowledge in the respective discipline.
