The department of Gujarati was started along with the establishment of college in 1999. Gujarati is taught in the college as a Core, Elective – I and Elective – II subject at the U.G level and it is also taught as a Core subject at P. G level in the college. Presently, there are two faculty members in Gujarati Department. The Head of the Department is Dr. Rajendrakumar K. Makwana and he is serving as an Associate Professor since December, 2000. He is the Co-ordinator of Self – Financed Programme in U.G and P.G. He is recognized Ph. D supervisor in Gujarati Subject in Shri Govind Guru University, Godhra. He is recognized Ph. D supervisor in Gujarati Subject in Shri Govind Guru University, Godhra. At present three research scholars are pursuing their Ph. D under his guidance. Another faculty member in the college is Dr. Parulben P. Pradhan, she has been serving as an Assistant Professor since 2011. She is recognized Ph. D supervisor in Gujarati Subject in Shri Govind Guru University, Godhra. At present three research scholars are pursuing their Ph. D under her guidance. Both the faculty members are very helpful to the students to get better understanding of the texts and can also score good marks in their exams. The experience of faculties is beneficial for the students. Students are provided with all the learning material, books, and reference books of language and literature.
Co-curricular activities are organized by both the faculty members to provide their students more knowledge of their subject other than the knowledge from books. The department facilitates and encourage students with great knowledge and interest in the mother tongue Gujarati, Language, Culture and Literature.
