Finishing School
Finishing School Initiative was launched in the year 2016 by the Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat, the Department of Education, and the Government of Gujarat. The objective of the Finishing School Training is to impart soft skills training and spoken English training to the students of Gujarat State and increase the level of their employability. The development of skills, employment, and good personality among the people of the nation is the main responsibility of the government and the medium of education is a major deciding factor in achieving this goal. With this objective in mind, the Finishing school training is given to final year students studying in college. The training is also given to postgraduate students from the year 2019-20. So far, there are trainers for more than 85 Life Skills and Employment Skills components trainers, and 37 English Component trainers who have national / international certification and corporate experience. A total of 80 hours of training is given to the students under finishing school. It has been divided into a total of 4 components
The vision of the finishing school is to prepare Graduate students of Gujarat for better employability. It aims at empowering students with various Skill sets in addition to Knowledge that makes them Industry ready. Finishing School Trainers enable students to learn Life Skills, Employability Skills, Functional and Spoken English Skills. The purpose is to make them competitive and dynamic for the world outside them. It aims at Industry readiness, and a prosperous career through appropriate training interventions. The vision goes a step further beyond Gujarat to spread the progressive initiative of Finishing School throughout India.
The main objective is to identify students who are in need of Training in essential skills, in Modules that add value to their education and enable them to enhance their better career opportunities and strengthen students with self-esteem, self-confidence, professional skills, and functional communication skills.
Report of Finishing School
March – 2022
- Finishing school was started in the college with the initiative from the principal of the college this year. Dr. K. B. Machhi was appointed the Coordinator for the Finishing School initiative. The training of the finishing school was conducted for the students from dated 9/3/2022 to 13/03/2022. The trainer for the finishing School was Dr. Rajesh Raval who has given the training in Life Skills, Employability Skills, Functional and Spoken English Skills etc.
